THE NEW CATHOLIC STUDENT CENTER

CAMPAIGN GOAL: $3.5 MILLION

The main focus at the Catholic Student Center at the University of Maryland is this: “Centered on Christ”. Between 2000-2018 alone, over 20,000 students have come for Mass, Wednesday Night Dinner, retreats, Bible studies, service projects, spiritual direction and more. Our facilities are in great need of updating to meet this continued growth. The New Catholic Student Center will accommodate 300+ students in the Barney Room, doubling the current seating for our popular Wednesday Night Mass and Dinner. The addition of new offices and meeting spaces will provide more places for bible studies, spiritual direction and counseling. Finally, our students will benefit from climate-controlled rooms, filled with natural light and improved ADA accessibility, as well as fire suppression and new plumbing. The hallmark of this project is a Eucharistic Adoration chapel in the center of the new building. As students enter the building, their eyes will be drawn toward the Eucharistic Adoration chapel – a place of intimate personal encounter with Jesus Christ.
