St. Patrick’s Street Walks
Join us at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in DC in serving the local homeless neighbors by walking the streets in the surrounding area and developing friendships with them. As a volunteer you will also be able to provide much needed bagged lunches to the homeless neighbors.
SOURCE (Meal Ministry)
Our Catholic Terps Service team volunteers with Source of All Hope homeless ministry in Baltimore to help by sharing meals, presence, and friendship with individuals living on the streets. As a volunteer you will help cook meals on Friday nights or eat and share lunch directly with people on the streets on Saturdays.
Little Sisters of the Poor located on Harewood Rd
The Little Sisters of the Poor are an international Roman Catholic religious congregation of women founded in France in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan. Their core mission is to offer a home, compassionate care, and dignity to the neediest elderly people of every race and religion.
The Jeanne Jugan Residence on Harewood Road primarily offers independent living apartments, a boarding house, and a licensed nursing facility. They rely heavily on community donations and volunteers, as the sisters do not receive major endowments. As a volunteer at Little Sisters of the Poor, you will be able to bring community to the nursing home residents through Mass, Rosary, and lunch!
Missionaries of Charity Gift of Peace House
The Missionaries of Charity are a Catholic religious order founded in 1950 by Saint Mother Teresa in Kolkata, India. The members dedicate their lives to serving “the poorest of the poor”, including the sick, homeless, and dying, regardless of their race or religion.
By volunteering at their Gift of peace house located on Otis Street NE DC, you will be able to serve:
- The Terminally and Chronically Ill: Individuals dealing with advanced illnesses who have no place else to go.
- The Homeless and Indigent: Vulnerable men and women lacking family support or the financial means to care for themselves.
- The Medically Compromised: Residents who require daily physical assistance, nursing care, or hospice support.
