Operation Mato Grosso (OMG), is an international non-profit also known as Beyond Borders. The group does house and yard projects for people in and around Baltimore who then pay an amount less than you would pay a professional. All of the money goes to the volunteers in OMG who go to support communities in several South American nations. There, they help provide food, water, and electricity in many cases, and they also build & teach at trade schools, hospitals, orphanages, and other things.

This winter break they are doing a work camp from Dec 28th – Jan 2nd at St. Philip Neri Church (6405 S Orchard Rd. Linthicum Heights MD 21090). The days breakdown like so:

8:00 am ~ Meditation (optional)

8:30 am ~ Coffee & Donuts | Head off to work in groups

9:00 am ~ Each group starts work at their site

2:00 pm ~ Head back to St. Philips for lunch and activities

4 – 5:00 pm ~ Everyone heads home

COVID-19 Precautions: Currently Maryland limitss congregations to 25 people outdoors and 10 people indoors. If this holds, they plan to meet in the parking lot of St. Philip Neri and only have 25 people each day. They are also requesting people get tested beforehand, but this is not required as they have Archdiocese of Baltimore sanctioned precautions in place (daily symptom check including a temperature reading)
