The specific duty of an intern is to assist the staff with tasks that are directly related to promotion of the Catholic Student Center – either for student engagement in the ministry or for the benefit of sustainability of the Center. Work can be done remotely as needed in addition to in-person meetings. These hours are negotiable as different events may create more hours – flexibility is key.The jobs may include and are not limited to the following:
Communications Intern (working directly with MJ Acevedo)
Summer Hours – 3-5 hours per week (no work needed during the months of June and July)
Semester Hours – 3-5 hours per week if possible, or as projects require (Training beginning mid-April, job begins May 1)
Pay period is monthly; school year position (August – May)
Focus in ministry: Support for internal communications for current student population and ministry needs.
Development/Fundraising Intern 1 (working directly with Ann Gradowski)
Summer Hours – 3 – 5 hours per week (Training beginning mid-April; job begins May 1)
Semester Hours – 5 – 7 hours per week if possible, or as projects require
Pay period is monthly; year round position, being local is helpful but not required
Focus in development: Oversight of all fundraising, primary focus on major giving and capital campaign
Development/Fundraising Intern 2 (working directly with Matt Aujero)
Summer Hours – 5 hours per week (Training beginning mid-April; job begins May 1)
Semester Hours – 3 – 5 hours per week if possible, or as projects require
Pay period is monthly; year round position
Focus in development: Alumni outreach and sustainable giving
Work may include:
- Data entry
- Name research
- Updating files, data systems
- Event research
- Internet research
- Phone calls
- Letter mailings (creation and sending)
- Event planning/promotion
- Organizational assistance
Skills required: Microsoft office (excel, word, publisher etc.), digital communications (Flocknote, or similar; Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, email etc.), communication skills: in-person/phone presence; time oriented (completes tasks when due); attention to detail/editing; quick learning/willingness to learn.
Skills preferred: graphic or media design experience (Canva, Photoshop, etc.), cloud based database experience; newsletter/writing skills
